iPhone 3G and why I’ve waited a year
And the new iPhone is out. Yesterday, Steve gave us the iPhone 3G and I want it. Right now.
When the first iPhone came out I knew this is big. There were some issues that prevented me from getting one. But not this time. If I were to show you my list of reasons why I haven’t bought the first iPhone and compare it to my list of reasons why I want the new one, the lists would match.
So why am I so willing to get the new iPhone? Well, there are some reasons:
3G - this is pretty much a standard now. First iPhone haven’t had that this one has.
GPS - I don’t know why but it seemed a logical thing to have a GPS in an iPhone and not having one was a big no no for me.
third party applications - being a geeky developer myself, I at least wanted the possibility to be able to make my own app myself.
faster internet connection - it goes together with 3G thing. It is a standard now and I want it in my phone.
price - my train of thought was this: if the iPhone doesn’t have (put anything from this list) in it I won’t pay that much. Well, now it does have (put anything from the list) in it AND it is cheaper. Oh, glory days.
official availability - first iPhone wasn’t available in Poland, this one will be this year, I didn’t want a hacked one and now I won’t have to have a hacked one.
And this is why am getting myself a new iPhone 3G. How about you? A proud owner of the first generation? Or are you like me waiting for the new version? Or maybe it is not down your alley? Care to share?
