ScrnShots.com - inspiration sharing

My top find of the day: ScrnShots.com. A new social site for inspiration sharing. I have just created an account there (check it out if you want) and played a bit with ScrnShots features.

For all those in need of a short review: ScrnShots.com is fun to use and definitely worth looking into.

And now the bigger review. There are some things that ScrnShots get right and some that are completely missed. Lets take a look, shall we?

The good

  • quick registration - that was a quick one, few seconds and I was enjoying my new free account
  • cool look and feel - I like this cool dark theme and those grey-blue accents really make the design complete
  • idea for the site - I did missed this kind of web app that will allow me to keep all my inspiration screenshots (a dedicated set on flickr didn’t do it for me)

The bad

  • confirmation e-mail contains your password in plain text! - this is a big miss guys, nothing screams “lame” so loudly as this
  • no search field - either it is so hidden or I just missed it but I’m missing functionality to search for whatever by a keyword
  • list items in the footer - whole design is rough but those bullets in footer are just too much, I’m hoping guys just missed that not made a conscious decision  to roll with that

So this is my piece of review right here. ScrnShots.com has some issues to sort out (plain text password, dudes) but it is a cool app with an awesome idea behind it.

If you decide to take this app for a test drive be sure to check my profile.
