Superhero movies in the making

After writing some stuff about superhero movies of 2008 it is time to look further into future and see what other superhero movies are in the making.

With Iron Man and Hancock behind us there is plenty more to look forward to:

Watchmen - film is all about a group of former vigilantes as war begins to break out between the United States and the Soviet Union. Set in fictional 1985 with Nixon still a president. Said to be released March 6th 2009.
X-Men Wolverine: Origins - this will be grand: first steps of Logan as a Wolverine going through Weapon X Program, seeking revenge on Sabretooth. Perfection. Coming out May 1st 2009
The Spirit - Frank Miller wrote the script and directed the flick. Enough said. Teaser here. Out on December 25th 2008
Sin City II - another Frank Miller movie. If you loved Sin City you will fall in love with sequel. No Bruce Willis this time. Rumored release date: 2010
Ant-Man - “Biochemist Dr. Hank Pym uses his latest discovery, a group of subatomic particles, to create a size-altering formula. Though his first self-test goes awry, he develops an instrument that helps him communicate with and control insects.” sounds lame, I know. But Ant-Man is here since 1962 and you just got to give him a chance. Also to be released in 2010
Thor - yep, a movie about Thor, son of Odin. Giant hammer and the works. Either it will be funny or it will blow. Will see in 2010
The Avengers - this is far frmo the future but The Avangers are rumored to be in pre-production with planned release in 2011 (wow, this is a scary sci-fi kind of a date, isn’t it?)
The Punisher II- this will be awesome. Punisher vs Jigsaw. Coming out December 5th 2008
GI Joe - being a big G.I. Joe fan I’m a bit worried how this will turn out. Especially having Dennis Quaide added to the mix. Well, we’ll see around September 2009
