TV Shows Fall Schedule 2008
I have just got in my hands proposed schedule with this fall’s TV shows. Is there a better topic for such a TV shows buff like me to blog about? Nope. So today let’s check out what got cancelled and what stays on next season.
NBC
Main shows that got renewed are 30 Rock, Heroes and to my big surprise - Knight Rider. Seems that people over at NBC didn’t think pilot sucked so bad. OK. I can roll with that.
When it comes to cancelled shows Bionic Woman is no surprise here but Las Vegas sure is.
ABC
Keeping Boston Legal is a great thing. I love the show and Danny Craine is brilliant as ever. Dirty Sexy Money and Eli Stone are also great shows and I am glad ABC kept those. Lost stays. A no-brainer here. Maybe writers will actually start explaining some stuff there. Scrubs are staying! This is a big news as some time ago there was this talk about finishing Scrubs. That show is one of my all time favorites and it is so awesome it stays.
What got sacked? Unfortunately Big Shots and Cashmere Mafia. Both good shows that in my opinion deserved another go. And now the big disappointment: Women’s Murder Club. This show was really good and I enjoyed it so much. Too bad.
The CW
Nothing big here. Supernatural got a green light for another season which is great. So did Smallville and The Reaper.
When it comes to cancelled shows nothing that I am even remotely interested in got sacked. So I wont be missing anything from the list.
CBS
Criminal Minds stay. This is one of my favorite crime dramas out there and this is a good news. All CSI series are also staying and that is a good thing though I do believe the shows are on their falling slopes (well, maybe not CSI:NY). And last but not least Numb3rs. It was a great show at the beginning but now it began to grow dull. But having yet another season of math fighting cirme is a good thing.
Let’s see what got cancelled, shall we? Jericho AGAIN. This show didn’t quite fit me but it is still amusing how it got cancelled for the second time. Oh well. Moonlight got red light too. Now this is not good news for me. I kinda enjoyed this show and I always thought it had potential. Too bad for me.
FOX
24 will have yet another season and so will Bones. I’ve seen first season of Bones and quite enjoyed it but always thought it will be let go sooner. Cool thing that is it getting renewed. House stays. I would be bloody angry if he didn’t. Hopefully they will crank up his attitude more in the next season. Prison Break will stay with us one more season. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles also got renewed. I have only one question: why? Is it just me or this show sucked really bad? I know that watching River Tam kick robot ass is cool but everything else was really really bad.
They cancelled New Amsterdam. Now this is a disappointment. Big time. Great show: immortal, with House-like attitude, fighting crime. Can it get better than that? Seems like FOX executives thought it can.
And this is it. My quick and on the fly review of renewed and cancelled shows in autumn 2008. Stay tuned as my next post will introduce my top new picks for upcoming season.
